Gratitude is a showing of thanks by words, by a hug, a public announcement which gets others to applaud. But it is mainly a state of mind. Do not forget to be grateful at the start of the day, my Reiki Master taught me. At the start of the day? You may think why at the start of the day when nothing has happened to be grateful for? Well, apart from waking up and being given a brand new day pregnant with opportunities. Being grateful for the day unfolding postitvely before you step out into the world or even stay indoors aligns you with the creative power of the universe, clears your mind and fills you with peace and confidence. It sows seeds in the universe and sets up a positive frequency. As like attracts like you will create your wyrd (path of entanglement) with events that will resonate with and reinforce your feeling of gratitude.
When I studied for my Sociology degree we looked at the education system and self fulfilling prophecy. This is a form of labelling people. He will do well. She will be popular. He is slow to learn. He is clumsy. She will not amount to much. Tell a person something about themselves often enough and they will internalise what you are projecting and it will come to pass. They become your creation. We all live on the same planet, in the same era but we do not live in the same reality as it is moulded by our inner world, our perception. The way that the universe and its energies and beings interact with us works in the same way as the self fulfilling prophecy. “Seek and Ye Shall Find” = The Law Of Attraction. We co create our reality through our perceptions of how reality comes about. Begin each day with an air of gratitude and you are setting up an intent within yourself and the participatory universe that all will go well. The way you carry yourself and the way you perceive things will be positive and that is how things will unfold.
There is another saying that is not all it’s cracked up to be. “Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched” That is generally presented as a warning. Do not expect good things to happen before they do. Do not be optimistic. I am going to put a new positive spin on that one. Do not COUNT your chickens before they hatch because you are placing a LIMIT on the number of good things that will happen/hatch in your life. Do not count them. Just be grateful that good things will happen.
A frind of mine reacted negatively when someone told her to be grateful. “Grateful?” she said “No, I am not grateful. I deserve things to go well. Gratitude does not come into it” Actually she was de-serving herself. She was focussing on LACK, on what she does not have. Her words were saying that life is a struggle.
